Rancho Estrella is a premier hunting

lodge located in the area of South Texas

long known as "Nueces Strip." We are

located 35 miles south of Hebbronville,

25 miles north of Rio Grande City and

75 miles from both Laredo and McAllen,

TX. The main ranch is comprised of

approximately 4,000 acres of grasslands

and 4,500 acres of brush country. The

diversity and richness of the habitat

provides premier deer hunting as well

as quail and dove hunting. Strong

populations of deer, turkey, quail, dove,

feral hogs and exotic animals inhabit the

ranch.

Since the introduction of various protein, rich wildlife vegetation, such as Tecomate Seed, oats, lab-lab, and milo have been farmed exclusively for the wildlife, the antler growth and weight, as well bird population growth has been amazing.

The Rancho Estrella staff is dedicated to making your hunt an exceptional experience. The chef, Chris Lee and his wife, Mellisa, are legendary among our guests. At Rancho Estrella, we also operate a deer breeding operation for white-tailed deer. We have skilled staff that carefully oversee the introduction of semen from breeder bucks, Max, Maxbo, Wildman, Top Gun, Doc and Briar Patch. We have also purchased breeder bucks from reputable deer breeders (Tom Malouf, Gary Machen and Sendero Whitetails). Proven genetics and years of operation have produced many quality deer. We are also hunting our newest ranch in Zapata County, RANCHO CHULA VISTA. The property, in legendary deer country, has been carefully managed for three years. The ranch is comprised of rolling hills, steep ridges and a wide diversity of South Texas short brush. The views are beautiful and the game abundant.

With the addition of exotic game - axis deer, black buck, gemsbuck, fallow deer and simatar horned oryx - year round hunting is provided for guests along with added excitement for the whitetail hunter or bird hunter with some down time. The abundant grasses of the open country provides the perfect habitat for these species.
